  • God, loosing something I dont have in the first place is not going to be a problem!
  • That's a really horrible thought! My thinking is if I lose someone they aren't with me, they're with God.
  • Catholics believe that neither has to happen. Even when a love one dies we do not lose them. They are with God. In Catholicism, we feel expecially close with our loved ones in heaven. We can talk to them and ask them to pray for us. We call this the Communion of Saints. Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints. You, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary the mother of Jesus, and Mother Teresa. Catholics and many other Christians believe in the Communion of Saints where all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When you die and go to heaven, you do not leave this family. As part of this family, you may ask your family and friends here on earth to pray for you. Or you may also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Andrew, or your deceased grandmother in heaven to pray for you. For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 946 and following: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1sect2chpt3art9p5.htm With love in Christ.
  • ive already lost a child so god can go.
  • I don't have any form of deity, so I couldn't care less if I lost God.
  • I would hate to lose a loved one but I believe when I die they will be there to meet me. My Grandparents, my two daughters and my brother in law who died this year will all be there with open arms. So a loved one very reluctantly.
  • God. According to Christians, he's the wanker who'd take them away from me.
  • I would rather lose God cause I have never seen nor heard her whereas a loved one I have seen and heard and held
  • Since I am a believer I do ask for forgiveness but if I had to choose between my daughter & God, I'm sorry God, my baby comes first
  • For non-believers this is never a dilemma for they have no God to lose in the first place. For the true believers as well this is never a dilemma for they believe that they and their loved ones are from God anyway. Although situations in which one has to make a choice between the two must be extremely rare. We have from the Holy Qur’an (HQ) the following examples of sacrifice from true men of God: Father - when Abraham as a youth left his father and his people in favour of God HQ 37:99 “And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me” Sons – when Abraham was genuinely prepared to sacrifice his only son for the sake of God and Noah accepted the loss of his son who refused to obey God’s command to be saved. HQ 37:102 “And when (Abraham’s son) was old enough to walk with him, (he) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. God willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. HQ 11:42-43 “Noah cried unto his son and he was standing aloof: O my son! Come ride with us, and be not with the disbelievers. He said: I shall betake me to some mountain that will save me from the water. (Noah) said: This day there is none that saveth from the commandment of God save him on whom He hath had mercy. And the wave came in between them, so he was among the drowned.” Wife – when Lot lost his wife who rebelled against God. HQ 15:59 “the family of Lot, them we shall deliver, everyone except his wife”
  • Not being a Christain, I don't have to make this choice, since I see God in everyone. But I do know some devout followers who would choose God over everything else in their lives... I don't find it strange or disproportionate, just unusual that people in this day and age would dedicate themselves so wholely to a Deity.
  • I WOULD RATHER LOSE ANYBODY BUT GOD, BECAUSE IF I WERE TO LOSE SOMEBODY IT WOULD BE BECAUSE OF GOD'S WILL!!! I'M GRATEFUL FOR MY FAMILY BUT ALL I NEED IS GOD!!!
  • death is a part of everyones life. rather not lose anyone, but then that is not reality....I'd rather not lose God..and as far as my family , I hope they would rather lose me than the Lord also.....I tell my grandson to let me go if he had to make a choice like that...God would be with me and him both....HE is first...
  • Is this a serious question? How could anyone reply "a loved one"? As for me - I would rather lose all my illusions rather than a loved one.
