Energy drinks, a way of venting, and a SMALL study group. I hated the classroom aspect. Anything below 76 was considered a failure. Sooo much information with so little time to study it. Tests always on Mondays so I made a deal with myself I'd always enjoy my Fridays and Saturdays and vent by doing whatever lol but I'd spend my Sundays studying in a small group of 3-4. Anything more will get you distracted. Have a schedule that works for you. Clinical aspect... never take anything personally. If your patients are mean, it's cuz they're in a hospital and no one wants to be there. If another nurse or doctor corrects you on something, remind yourself you're a student so this is definitely the time to make mistakes and learn from it. Keep reminding yourself, this won't last forever!

You get to treat your patients like crap.

Congrats! I just graduated myself. The best advice for survival that I can give is to work/study EVERY day. Get assignments done before they're due. If you get lost on something, speak up RIGHT THEN, or you'll get left behind. Make procedure and medication cards (hole punch and join on a metal ring.) When you feel discouraged, remember that the sacrifices you're making right now will be rewarded BIG TIME in the near future. How do you eat an elephant???? One bite at a time. Good luck! You can do it.
