Menstrual blood will contain blood born pathogens such as HIV and Hepititis. While, I am aware of no studies on the matter, it is logical that your risk as a male for contracting a blood born pathogen increases by having sex during a female's menstrual cycle.

No not unless you have an STD. but still use protection, you can still get pregnant!! sperm can live awhile, and if you drop an egg after your period, well miss. egg meet mr. sperm! :)
