  • The chances are good that your baby rabbit is a domestic breed, and not the offspring of a wild rabbit. Domestic rabbits do not do well in the wild, as they have few of the instinctive reactions of their wild brothers and sisters. Thus, it is not generally a good idea to let a domestic rabbit loose out of door, unless you have a sturdy enclosure in which s/he is protected from possible threats. In this instance, your rabbit is also a baby. Like all children, he is likely to be more susceptible to both passing germs and changes in temperature: keep him inside. If you really want him to experience snow, build him a sturdy run in the spring so he can spend time getting used to the outdoors, and allow him to use it under your supervision. As the seasons change, he will have a better chance of adjusting so that, when he is an adult next winter, he can experience snow.
