  • It is just a matter of priorities. For the super-religious, it it: 1. God exists 2. How can I use my senses etc. to prove this For the non religious, it is 1. Use my senses to discover the world. 2. Do I find a God in what I see. You will never convince them, because they take the existence of God as a given, and the evidence as a means of investigating the nature of God, whereas the rationalist puts the evidence first.
  • I am a bit confused. What scientific evidence against Christianity exists? In the Nicence Creed, a summary of Christian faith, very little can be proved or disproved scientifically. We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us and our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son, He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen. If you are speaking about Creationism then you are speaking of a small side issue of Christianity. One that is held by a minority of Christians. Most Christians does not take the stories of creation in the Bible literally. Most believe the book of Genesis tells religious truth and not necessarily historical fact. One of the religious truths is that God created everything and declared all was good. Catholics can believe in the theory of evolution. Or not. The Church does not require belief in evolution. On August 12, 1950 Pope Pius XII said in his encyclical Humani generis: The Teaching Authority of the Church does not forbid that, in conformity with the present state of human sciences and sacred theology, research and discussions, on the part of men experienced in both fields, take place with regard to the doctrine of evolution, in as far as it inquires into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existent and living matter - for the Catholic faith obliges us to hold that souls are immediately created by God. Here is the complete encyclical: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/pius_xii/encyclicals/documents/hf_p-xii_enc_12081950_humani-generis_en.html The Church supports science in the discovery of God's creation. At this time, the theory of evolution is the most logical scientific explanation. However tomorrow someone may come up with a better idea. As long as we believe that God started the whole thing, both the Bible and modern science can live in harmony. With love in Christ.
  • What Scientific evidence? I am a born-again Christian, and I've never even heard of any true, irrefutable scientific or historical evidence against Christianity. -In the Master's service. Thank you and God bless you!
  • its called "faith" which is the belief in that which has no proof...
  • they stick their fingers in their ears and sing "LALALALALA" when you present them with the facts, that's how.
  • People believe things. It means that you don't need science.
  • To be perfectly fair, they aren't the only ones. You can find "denialists" and "cranks" in all sorts of areas without even needing religion. Just look at the anti-vaccine movement, the HIV denialists, homeopathy, or UFO enthusiasts. It's frighteningly easy to convince people that there's an enormous conspiracy out there on the part of experts to lie to them, mislead them or just keep them in the dark. Whether you're saying "evolutionists are the devil's minions" or "the truth is out there" (regarding UFOs) it's basically the same accusation - that smarty-pants scientists are trying to keep you away from The Truth. It's partly anti-intellectualism, partly con men taking advantage of already disenfranchised gullibles, and partly a sort of weird reverse-elitism. Only the most faithful, the most special, will look past all of the evidence and know the truth! Heh. Anyway, I blame poor educational standards in the basic sciences for this tendency, in America at least. (Of course I'm taking your question to refer to Christians who stridently deny scientific evidence in order to make the world more closely conform to their holy book, the anti-evolution movement being one example. If you were referring to christianity being disproved altogether, that's different. We have some evidence that I find convincingly indicates that the universe works just fine without a God, but there's no definitive proof)
  • What is a "super christian"? Do they wear capes? Also, science does not try to disprove religion, it only tries to answer the physical questions that exsist.
  • I'm still waiting for this so-called "scientific evidence" against Christianity. This is a question that is obviously from the viewpoint of one that doesn't understand the teachings of Christ. Besides, why are you so bent on disproving it? Have you even read His teachings? Where is this overwhelming desire to disprove it come from? To be a true Christian one must believe that "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that anyone that believes in Him might have everlasting life, and not perish", and then they must live the law of love and forgiveness. It seems that so many wish to disprove that which cannot be either proven true nor untrue with conventional, scientific wisdom with conventional, scientific methods. This is silly, isn't it. The only proof a Christian has of their faith is that they have tasted of that which cannot be tasted, touch that which cannot be handled, and seen that which cannot be seen, and found it to be good, and a source of healing and inner strength within their lives. If one is not willing to take that step, then any "proof" a Christian has to offer is worthless and without logic.
  • First I agree with what another said. Whats a Super Christian? Second, yes I will respond to that....What??
  • "If you study science deep enough and long enough it will force you to believe in God." - Lord Kelvin, a very famous British scientist. "I read the Bible through from cover to cover four times during my sophomore year in college for the explicit purpose of finding scientific contradictions in it. As I considered and thought about these things, I found that I could not find a contradiction--to find some kind of scientific inaccuracy in the Bible. I just simply was not able to do it." - John Clayton In other words, there are no scientific evidence to disprove the existence of God.
  • Albert Einstein, considered one of the greatest scientists of the 20th century, is supposed to have said "science without religion is lame" while Religion, it is claimed, encourages science, adopting it as a tool by which to study the subtleties of God's creation. Of course the Qur'an is not a book of science. However, many scientific facts that are expressed in an extremely concise and profound manner in its verses have only been discovered with the technology of the 20th century. These facts could not have been known at the time of the Qur'an's revelation, and this is still more proof that the Qur'an is not the word of man. For example, until the dawn of the 20th century, the only view prevailing in the world of science was that "the universe has a constant nature and it has existed since infinite time". If we look at the word "heaven" in the Qur'an we see that it has the meaning of space and universe and that it is telling us that the universe "expands". And this is the very conclusion that science has reached today. • Blind Faith.
  • I beleive in the bible and I beleive it to be true. I am focused on the life of Jesus christ not how high the flood water came.I try to care about that stuff ,but i just can't . I beleive every word that came out of christ's mouth was the truth and from God the Father. I beleive Christ is the son of God. if there is any error in the history of christian religion it is man's error not God's. and I can tolerate errors from my christian brothers. But Christ is alive inside of me changing my life for the better every day. that is all the proof I need right now to continue on my path. The world is God's footstool. I am sure all these answers will be reveald sooner than later. and we'll all know for sure.time is short. Get your game face on. I appreciate everyone's input, good discussion.
  • Blind faith
  • What is a "super christian"?
  • In the context and meaning that you failed to use, there is no evidence against Christianity. Even atheists will very much so fight you on that. Now what you really said. Scientific evidence? That's an oxy-moron. Science is speculative, theories, not proven. Science isn't even sure of itself. Christianity is no religion. It's a relationship between a person and God through Jesus. A religion is about a bunch of rules and following them. Chrisitanity is about forgiveness, mercy, and grace.
  • By using something from the bible to try to refute it. It's not listed in the bible so it's not true, or if the bible says it then it must be true.
