There were 2228 people on board of the Titanic, 337 in first class, 285 second class, 721 in third class and 885 crew members. Despite the rumors that 712 survived it was really only 705, most of the dead were not recovered.

The exact number of people abord is unknown. But 712 names were listed on the published survivor list. Roughly 350 bodies were recovered and most were buried in Halifax, Canada.
