I think they become large propoganda and political engines. Other than that, I don't think any differently of them than I do smaller churches.

A megachurch is a large Protestant church, generally defined as having around 2,000 or more worshippers for a typical weekly service. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megachurch I kind of smile when they are discussed. There are over 3,000 families in my Catholic parish which is a little larger than average. In 2006, there were 18,584 Catholic parishes in the U.S. serving 64 million Catholics. That an average of 3,400 Catholics per parish.
