  • I am afraid I am going to have to admit defeat on this, but am posting anyway because I am curious about the answer... I first thought it might be Paul Ince, but he only played for one club in Italy (Inter) and not two as I had thought. Then I had a bit of a blank with some of the names I checked up on, until I had a EUREKA moment and thought "David Platt!!!!"... only it isn't him either, of the Italian teams he played for only one of them is a former European Cup/Champions League winner. So if anyone knows the answer, please put me out of my misery! edit - no need to put me out of my misery, I had another think and have come up with the answer, I'm pretty sure it is Dean Saunders, who played for Liverpool, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Benfica but never won a European title in his career.
