Do you know anyone who is friendly and cordial sometimes, and takes shots or swats at you at other times? You never know which person is going to show up. How long does it take you to remove yourself from the line of fire for good?

One swat would do it for me. I don't need a Jeckle and Hyde friend. That's not a "friend" anyway.

I used to have a friend like this. Finally I freaked out at her one day and told her to stop hitting me or I'd break her jaw...this stopped it permanently, since I could have easily broken her jaw.

It probably takes me longer than it should. I always tend to prize the good parts of people and forgive the bad parts. But after too much of the yo-yo, I drop out for good. Life's too short to be waiting for jabs and punches! :)

Yes, my in-laws. I ignore the bad or give it right back, because I'm (happily?) stuck with them.
