  • A big one!!! Sorry I can be very materialistic ;)
  • There really isn't. Get one you can afford. It's the meaning behinfd the ring that is important. ***OR like 3k - whichever***
  • Somewhere between 0 and 10000000 carats. It's a matter of love, not material. No diamonds rings in this house. Simple gold bands served as engagement and wedding rings.
  • I have read in an etiquette book that the groom is suppose to spend two months salary on the engagement ring. I believe the same information was given when I attended Charm School as well. So-I guess whatever two months of his salary/wages will buy. Be Blessed!!!
  • Majority of engagement rings are under 1 carat. As soon as you get beyond that, the cost will be sky high. Usually couples prefer to choose smaller stone and then upgrade them for an anniversary. But, if 0.25 is all he can afford right now, then you can't really hold it against him.
  • size really does not matter.... get what you both like and can afford... most important is the love between you, not how big diamond is!!!!
  • There is not a standard size. I have a few friends who got a 0.25 carat diamond and it is fine for them. I myself spent a little more and got a 0.65 carat diamond for my wife and can honestly say it was worth the extra money.
  • First of all, the size only matters when the woman is showing her ring off. If it was just up to the couple, it wouldn't matter. It's perception of the outsider that screws it up for us guys. Woman don't care-they just want to have what "The Jones's" have. It aint right. Ok hun, let's split the cost, then see how much you care about the size. HAH! If hers is smaller than her friends, then it's not good....if it's bigger than her friends, that ruins it for the friend's man who will then be hounded.....women! UGH! (for the record, I love her and she is worth a good ring, but c'mon ladies, get real)
