Look for something that says boot order, and make sure CD-ROM is listed first.

It was probably inadvertantly disabled, try resetting the defaults in the bios or see if there is a flash for it, for all intensive purposes, it may be corrupt and a reset or update are all you probably need.

during initial bootup, press "delete"...will enter bios settings...go to boot sequence, choose CD as first choice (should be anyway, in case of HD failure)...insert recovery disc once you save info...and you are set

go to bios settings in the boot section choose boot priority for the first boot choose your CD rom and second hard drive it's not imortent to choose any thing for third boot .
