  • 2.5 cups of milk
  • I always do these ones like this: 1.5 cups of milk goes with 3 cups of flour. I need "something cups of milk goes with 5 cups of flour" I need to change the 3 to 5. It's easier to change 3 to 1 to 5 like this: 1.5 cups of milk goes with 3 cups of flour. 1 cup of flour is one third of that, so: one third of 1.5 cups of milk goes with 1 cup of flour. 0.5 cups of milk goes with 1 cup of flour. Now the second part is easy. 5 cups will need 5 times as much. 5 times 0.5 cups of milk goes with 5 cups of flour. 2.5 cups of milk goes with 5 cups of flour. It's longwinded but it works and you can see at each stage to see if the numbers still look right.
  • Seth's an idiot if he used 5 cups of flour, he deserves for his cake to be ruined. Now he has to add more eggs, more sugar, more vanilla extract, and that stuff's expensive! Seth's mom should slap him.
  • divide 1.5 by 3, then multiply it by 5.
