Great question. I don't know. It would make me think about myself and truly see how others see me. It would definitely change how I acted. I would treat them they way the deserve to be treated, whether it's good or bad.

It doesn't matter where or what reality "is". Your interactions with people are the same whether they are real people or figments of my imagination: someone who looks, sounds and feels like a friend (or enemy) is a friend (or enemy) even if I am imagining them. So nothing would change.

If I viewed this question and its asker are merely extensions of my own consciousness the answer really does not matter (nobody else is affected by it). If you think I am just a figment of your imagination/consciousenss... then 'my' answer does not matter because you think it comes from you anyway. If I am certain people are in fact obejectively real individuals, the answer to this hypothetical question is likewise meaningless. No matter what perspective I try to evaluate, I get the same answer - the question is meaningless and the answer not useful. I do have dreams in which other people really are an extension of my own mind... I treat them differently depending on their behavior, current circumstances, etc... but, of course I don't view that experience as purely inside my own mind while it is happening, so it does not really apply. Should I try to answer as a fiction writer who really does invent people and treat them various ways? If you really live in a fantasy in your own head, subject to whatever laws of physics, morality, justice you choose, then the rules you choose, the kinds of people you choose to populate your world and the things that happen to them say something about you... It has been a fun thought exercise, but good for nothing but entertainment.
