The principle of individuality (as I've heard it described) is generally related to how each person is separate and unique from others. It's often discussed in religion and philosophy, which is where I first heard it. In forensics, I suppose it would be how we look for evidence with individualized characteristics, meaning it came from a single source at the exclusion of all others. Does that answer what you were looking for? Again, I've never heard the principle applied to forensics in direct terms, so I might be a little vague. :)
