Are Babycakes and Babycakes Deux Related? Who had the name first? I am am the only one who is confused?

I don't think they're related. Babycakes was the original. This isn't math so you shouldn't be confused. :P

Now that you asked this question, it has led to consideration. That I don't know, but usually, there are more like common names. I was actually confused as well too, so you're not the only one. If neither one of them changed their name, then I would say that Babycakes had the name first, due to the date they signed up.

I have been here since Feb.6,2007 do I win a prize...trophy...cash...car...anything???????? No I do not know the other one...we have have not been introduced as of yet. But as far as I can tell I am the one and only babycakes...just plain ol' babycakes:) Pick me !!!!

Babycakes had the name first. When Babycakes Deux first joined AB, she chose the name Babycakes, not knowing, of course, that the name was already in use. My guess is that Babycakes Deux either saw the original Babycakes while surfing around AB, or someone told her about Babycakes, so the name Babycakes Deux made -- what else? <drum roll> Its debeux, LOL.

Babycakes was here first. I assumed AB wouldn't let me choose a name that was already in use. A nice ABer (I can't remember who and couldn't find it in my Q&A comments section) pointed it out to me and suggested the name Babycakes Deux - I liked it and adopted it.

I was never confused. I just assumed that they were related. But, since all the answers and comments show that they are NOT related, we now know for sure. As long as neither is upset about it, it doesn't bother me. Maybe Babycakes Deux could change her name to "Patty-cakes ... the ABer formerly known as B.D.! Just kidding. If Babycakes is okay with it, so am I.

I've not been confused at all. Babycakes is the original babycakes, and Babycakes Deux, was 2nd. So, I thought the "deux" was clever. I also made no assumption that they were related. I also don't understand why some people seem to think it's a big deal that the names are close.

Actually, what I heard, is that Babycakes Deux is the result of a cloning experiment gone out of control. Babycakes (the first) didn't know about it, as a top secret government agency stole her DNA while she was sleeping. Babycakes Deux is actually a time traveling babe sent back in time to foil Babycakes (the first) evil plot to take over Answerbag (but that won't happen until 2011). Did I say too much?

Sweetcakes, Thank you so much for your kind words. You and Babycakes have both been great. I had a conversation with Babycakes who was incredibly nice (as she always is) and she said she didn't mind at all that I was using the same name. So, thanks to you Sweetcakes and to Babycakes - Y'all are truly kind and thoughtful people.
