I am not sure of that but one can imagine the feelings of the African Americans given the human tragedy in their history. Their shameful and degrading treatment is an awful example of man’s inhumanity to man. However, racism or any belief by one group of people of their superiority over another is condemned in Islam. The Holy Qur’an (HQ) says that the only ranking recognized by God is that attained by noble conduct. HQ 49: 13 says “O mankind! Lo! We have created you male and female, and have made `you nations and tribes that ye may know one another. Lo! the noblest of you, in the sight of God, is the one best in conduct. Lo! God is Knower, Aware.”
