  • The most accurate way to test for pregnancy is to wait until after your period is due. All pregnancy tests on the market will pick show a positive result, a higher percentage of the time, if you wait until this point. You can also try The FIRST RESPONSE® Early Result Pregnancy Test. It is newer and more sensitive. Most pregnant women have enough of the pregnancy hormone, hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), to be detected as early as 4 days before their expected period. For example, if you expect your period on the 21st day of the month, you can test as early as the 17th day of the month. This new test willlet you test four days before your expected period. Some more info: You can use the FIRST RESPONSE® Early Result Pregnancy Test any time of the day. You do not have to use the first morning urine. Generally, however, your first morning urine contains the highest level of the pregnancy hormone. Hope this Helps, Tiff
  • You need to allow adequate time for the fertilized egg to implant in the uterus and trigger the hormone changes that are picked up by the pregnancy test. This usually takes at least a week. Waiting a second week (about the time your period would normally be due) allows the hormone levels to rise to higher levels, thus easier to detect. Use the first morning urine for a test to detect the hormone at the earliest possible time.
