Yes. I did it once and the girl flipped me the bird. I secretly hoped that she got a ticket...
-
Yes I do, and apparently it's illegal because I've been pulled over for it before, I just told the cop that a deer was in the road and that's what I was warning them about and he let me go, I was pretty proud of myself for being on the ball like that, I wasn't expecting him to ask why I was warning other people of an officer in the area!

I guess everyone has done this at one time or another in their life. one man made a huge sign that said "Radar Ahead" and was showing it to oncoming cars, before the radar operation. he was arrested for interfering with a police operation. Its illegal to do so, but honestly, i do not know of many people arrested because of this. if it slows the cars down, so be it. We need all the help we can find.
-
nah, i look out for myself. i have done it, but now i dont put in the effort.
-
Nah, if they want to speed they are on their own.
-
No, never thought about doing that. When I see someone flash there hi-beams at me. I usually check to see if mine are on by mistake.
-
I did that when I lived in Maine, but here in Virginia people have no clue what that means... nobody does it.
-
I used to, but now I figure, if you are speeding (breaking the law), I am not going to help you avoid the consequences.
-
yeah why should motorist be tax anymore.they already get a bum deal in my opinion
-
Yes I do. I believe the police presence is there not just to catch speeders but to prevent speeding. So...I flash because then whoever is coming towards me slows down....makes sense to me. Also, if I see someone coming towards me, passing and speeding, I flash whether or not there are cops around. Again, if they slow down, maybe someone's life may be safer, even their own. I don't believe that idiots who speed should be allowed to jeapardize everyone else on the road. So....if I see someone driving erratically or speeding excessively, I take their licence plate number if I can...and I report them. I also report drunk drivers.....if I'm out for the evening and someone has had too much to drink and refuse to relinquish their keys...I call in. If you are drunk, you WILL NOT drive if I've got anything to do with it. Some say I am a busybody for doing that....others say I am a responsible citizen.

Yes. Tickets suck, and that slows the person down to the speed they're supposed to be going anyway.
-
Nope. I still can't legally drive in a car on my own, but I still never and would never do that. If you're speeding, I hope they catch you and come down on you like a ton of bricks. Too many people are killed and injured by careless drivers, and I'm not going to help you continue such wreckless behaviour. I think most people at some point have checked their clocks and noticed they're going slightly over the limit by mistake, but I think if you're warning people then you're acknowledging that they're purposely speeding more than slightly over the limit. It's not as if I'd want anyone to warn me, if I'm deliberately speeding for a purpose other than someone is seriously ill in the back of my car, then I also deserve to be fined, banned, have points on my license or whatever.
-
No Way! And if someone did that to me, I would expect they were telling me my lights were out or something. It would never dawn on me that they'd be warning me of a police car. But even if that were common practice and everyone knew the signal, I still wouldn't do it. Why do I want to help reckless drivers?
-
ya...its only common courtesy..

ya...its only common courtesy..
-
no I don't. I watch my speed and obey the law. If people are speeding then they should have to pay the consqences.
-
No. I've never even HEARD of this. But I wont start. Police here wont pull you over if you are going within 16km of the speed limit. They already LET you speed a bit. I just don't feel that going any faster than that is necessary. People die that way.
-
Naa, I'd rather the speeders got caught and lost their license. It's dangerous, very dangerous, to the driver, their passengers, the drivers around them, pedestrians, anyone in buildings near the road, etc... I REALLY HATE it when people go over the limit - it's called a 'speed limit' for a damn good reason; saving lives. It's the -limit-, meaning you should be going SLOWER than that speed, agh >: ( (Pet hate... lol)
-
I wouldn't in a school area, since it makes sense that the drivers who speed should be caught and treated accordingly. However, in areas that the limit posted doesn't make any sense, I might warn drivers. I tend not to flash the oncoming drivers, since my main beam controls are a bit fiddly at the moment, but I might do the triple brake tap to warn others behind me. However I would use my main beam to warn oncoming drivers of a hazard in the road around a bend, such as an animal or crash.
-
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. It depends on the situation. If it's obviously a speed trap (a sudden, significant drop in the speed limit) I would warn people because some places set those up on purpose. Also, there are some self-funding police forces (the one that I know of is the most belligerent, abusive police force that I've ever seen ... they also have the fanciest, newest police cars). Are they serving and protecting or self-serving? Okay, so maybe that much thought doesn't go into. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.
-
I like to be a little dramatic. I'd stick my head out the window and yell "Pigs! Look out!".
-
Nope. It's illegal to do that in NY. They often have cops checking both directions to catch people who do it, and they get ticketed, too.
-
Sure do.
-
most of the time yes ,i notice a lot of drivers don't know the meaning when they see flashing lights. mao
-
No, but someone did it to me, at the time I didn't know what that meant so I just kept speeding xD
-
nope
-
You bet I do, and especially if I think radar is involved. Radar speed traps used to be illegal unless a sign was posted warning drivers of a radar setup. I was once clocked at sixteen miles per hour whilst I was idling in Park.
