no, it would be more like putting hores blinders on a cat often uses it wiskers as a feeler to see if it can squeeze into a space if you cut them it will try squeezing into places it can not fit into !

I think pulling out a human's nails would be signficantly more painful. If you cut that cats whiskers you have deprived it of special "feelers" for gauging whether or not it's body can fit in or under something. Curious cats will get these whiskers singed by fire, but I do believe they will grow back. I find lost whiskers on the floor.

it would be like if you were standing on a balancing beam and you had no arms to spread out to keep your footing. I've seen cats with cut whiskers, they wobble and aren't themselves because thier senses are off.
