They usually come in when people are aged 18 to 21 years old.

I had my wisdom teeth removed at 16 years old. I was going to an oral surgeon for a year prior and he kept on xraying me. When I was 16 years old, he looked at the xray and said that they were a good size to come out. Your wisdom teeth might start growing earlier. The only way to know is to get an xray. I'm now 18 years old and wisdom teeth free since 2005. My dad had 3 wisdom teeth and he currently got another wisdom tooth in his mouth (top) at 54 years old! He's not removing it though. (I had 3 wisdom teeth too, 2 bottom and 1 upper.) Hope I don't get another wisdom tooth when I'm older.

i started cutting my first wisdom tooth at 33. 3 years later it is still growing... a bit at a time.
