Seriously...this is weird I get that exact pain sometimes, my husband thinks I'm the only weirdo who gets this kind of pain...it's not always intense but it does intensify when I breathe!! I have the perfect answer--at least in my case it was perfect-- it's just gas from eating something your intestines did not like very much. Severe Abdominal pain from spicy or high fiber food! I went to the emergency room with it one night because it was soooo bad and basically spent 100 dollars to be told I just had gas!! And your mom is partially right more water will help you digest the food better! But medicine and science are mysterious things and you could have something totally different wrong with you! If it worrys you and you have the pain constantly I would go to the Dr. at least you will have some peace of mind by knowing for sure!! Hope this helps!

i have something similar and i have been to hospital twice. they have turned around to me both times and said there is nothing wrong with me. ive had blood tests, ecg's, examinations and they still dont know what is wrong. theres definitly something wrong though because it really hurts especially if i touch my ribs. if you are worried then go to the doctor and get checked out to put your mind at rest. im going for a scan soon so hopefully i will find out what it is.

Which side of your chest is it on, more on the left, or more on the right? Is it accompanied by pain elsewhere? Besides just when the pain happens, how is your breathing? Do you feel like you ran a marathon, or feel like someone is sitting on your chest?

our gym coach was telling us about this cause it pretty much happens to everyone. It's supposed happen after you've done something physically like walking or exercising. It means that you are working to hard physically and you should slow down a bit, but don't stop. It hurts just because you don't have enough energy basically meaning you're not in shape (not thin or fat just in good shape) like you need to exercise more so the more you exercise, it will hurt but then as you start exercising even more the less you'll be hurting. I don't think I explained it very well, sorry.
