What makes some people want to make fun of unique people such as the special needs? Being with different people should be good . Having some different ways of thinking or acting are just bad? We should understand them more.

Yeah. How can we call them handicapped when most of us would not be able to handle their physical or mental differences as gracefully or skillfully as they do. Remeber, the live in their world as well as ours.

People with a weak sense of self tend to want to make themselves feel superior and define themselves by the traits of others. They can then wrench their arm patting themselves on the back, beating themselves on the chest, and basking in their glorious superiority.

People like to point out the differences and make fun of others so you don't notice how ignorant they are.

I think its wrong and i care for people with special needs, so would you be offended if somebody called you a retard and referred you to a photo of the face of a young downs syndrome boy? i have and that has happened on here....its wrong and outragously ignorant.....i think more education needs to be given on this subject to educate others in understanding special needs. A very good question.
