It is not uncommon for adult cats to suckle when cuddled by their favourite human. There are a lot of theories as to why this is, and why it happens more often in male than in female cats -- although it is my female that casued me to find out about it -- but the most common is that the cat was spearated from its mother before it was fully weaned. At any rate, it isn't harmful, it isn't symptomatic of a desease, and it *is* an indication that your cat regards you as special. If you can live with it, it ptobably makes him feel a lot better....

I've had 3 cats, the youngest I got 10 months ago as a 6 week old kitten and he has suckled me every day since we got him. At first I was a bit confused about what he was doing, and if i'm honest a little bit grossed out too! But after a while, and after doing a bit of research, I found out that this is quite normal for some cats to do, especially neutered males for some reason. I believe that it relates to the cat feeling happy and safe, reverting back to him kneadling his mother for milk as a baby. I take it as a big compliment, it makes me his favourite person (he only does it to me, not my partner or any visitors) and once I got passed the grossness, I found I quite liked it - it means he really does love me!
