I would not be able to , the way my program is set up , I don't buy anything either over the Internet + 5
-
No.
-
Likely no. I'd migrate to somewhere else that's friendly and free.
-
No
-
I might be if there was a small fee however I feel like it should only be if you want to answer and not for questioners. People should always feel free to come and inquire about something.
-
no
-
nope! not even if i did have a job
-
Probably.
-
Nope- there are too many other websites out there that are free, so I'd go there instead.
-
No
-
Nope.
-
Nope. I'm so broke, I can't even pay attention.
-
the best things in life are free.
-
As much as I enjoy AB and would feel the loss of not being able to interact here, I don't think I'd pay a fee. As someone else pointed out, there are so many free websites out there.
-
no
-
I don't even have money to pay for things that I want desperately . I'm not that addicted.
-
Nope.
-
I know that this site has sold out a lot to sponsors in the last few months in order to generate revenue. Well, I am sort of hooked but due to the mass exodus of users I severely doubt the effectiveness of such a maneuver. It's already bad enough having to deal with blue underlined links in answers as well as having to deal with everything turning into a Nascar race with signboards everywhere. My answer is one of those cars because it has advertisement slapped onto it already. The blueline special.
-
No, there are many other things I should be doing. And there is always the sites I was on before for hours.
-
No way.
-
I love AB, but no, I would not use this site if there was a fee.
-
No, I'm with several others ... broke, (and that's not where my name came from, even tho' it fits)!
-
I'm afraid I'd have to leave. For the amount of time I spend here, any payment would be excessive. It's fun, but I can have fun elsewhere. I'm not sure I'd go after another Q/A site though - I'd probably just give it up altogether.
-
Answerbag is good but not that good.
-
don't you love when you spot a typo in your question and it's too late to fix it? monthly rate... nah, I want a life time subscription with one installment.
-
No, I would not if there was a fee. I like AB, but I like others would have to leave if there is a fee.
-
probably not.
-
No, I would just have to suffer AB withdrawals...but I bet there would be a lot less idiots on here. :P
-
No. The Internet has thousands of free websites I could go to.
-
No, I wouldn't be. My mom would refuse to pay it...
-
Monthly charge I don't think so. I get enough of those in the mail. I like AB but at this time I would have to say NO I would not be on Answer Bag.
-
I sure would miss you all. Or should I say most of YA... For I know there are many other's like myself who are also on many other web: sites like this one for free...I guess only time will tell......M.C.S.
-
No way. I'm too poor.
-
No but I'd gladly be on line double time if they paid me!
-
No.
-
no
-
Yes, if I could afford it. I am a homebody and don't really like going out for entertainment all that much. I pay for my internet provider, I pay for cable TV and AB certainly entertains me as much if not more than what I read or watch..so, again, providing it were affordable I would not leave. :)
-
Lessee... I pay a monthly subsciption fee so I can contribute answers for other people's education and/or amusement and/or irritation. :) Nah.
-
Depends on the charge.
-
If it were a few dollars a month, yes. But I know some people who pay like 10-15 dollars a month for their internet provider, so I'd never pay more than that for access to any website.
-
I'd probably see if I could get my parents to pay for it. I need to save money. Though, if Answerbag were to charge a monthly, I would expect some improvements and some perks if I paid.
-
Honestly? Probably not.
-
Probably not.
-
Fraid so...Hope the higher ups aren't listening...
-
Nope!
-
nope
-
Sure why not
-
No. They should be paying me for this material. :P
-
No - there is no real value to this site for me-
-
Not a chance. The minute I see that a site charges for use is the minute I leave.
-
don't give them ideas..I wouldn't stay.
-
No, I would not pay for a subscription. The New York Times did that to me and I said no. They put a charge on their “Select” content. I just read Tom Freidman’s column in an out of town newspaper. LOL It was just announced this week. that the Times is dropping their charges for the “Select” material . They will try to sell more online adds instead. I appreciate that Joel and Rich are very bright people, but if I am not paying for the New York Times, I sure am not paying for answerbag!
-
No. I would not pay, let alone give banking details.
-
where am i going to steal the money.....?
-
I would not pay. We're doing them a favor by saturating their servers with informative content and opinion from the hearts and minds of humankind. When you think about it... this information will be invaluable in the future.
-
Perhaps if it were mininal, maybe $5 per month, but I am not sure. I do think there might be some upside as in fewer trolls, fewer immature kids, and fewer sock puppet accounts. If every user name cost money every month I think my little band of trolls would thin considerably as I suspect many of them are the same group of people, each with sock puppets. Thinning out such scum might be worth paying a few bucks a month.
-
Nah
-
I can definitely tell you that I would not be here and neither would the people be that I associate with.
-
No. I enjoy Answerbag, but I am not so addicted to it. Besides, my entire life is not based on the Internet.
-
Nah. It's fun and all, but not worth having to pay for when they are about a thousand duplicate sites such as this out there. But then I wouldn't even look for another, just drift off randomly into the horizon. I pay enough monthly fees every month, not adding any unnecessary ones.
-
I would pay to subscribe to AB if it meant that I wouldn't see any ads or their links and if the time limits on editing my comments and questions were removed. Of course, I realize that if the time limit for editing my questions was removed it would be my responsibility to notify anyone who answered my question before I edited it.
-
This is a duplicate question, maybe stated slightly differently, but still.
-
Not a chance.
-
Perhaps. Not excessively so. If I had to buy an annual subscription, I probably would do so, up to $100 annually. Any more and I could not support the expense to my husband. It would kind of be like a dating service then too, I would probably be getting more solid advice and getting rid of trolls. There would still be a few trolls, and just paying $100 doesn't prove you are smarter. But I suspect that most trolls wouldn't pay for venting their bile upon me, and at least most ten year olds would be eliminated from answering my complex relationship questions when they have very little experience in the arena.
-
Not a chance.
-
Shouldn't have to pay for knowledge, or worse, the many meaningless questions and hostility presented when someone doesn't like your opinion. Scroo dat.
-
hell no.
-
Not in a forum of this nature. If it were better regimented with recognized authorities in specific categories, it si feasible that some people will. There are several such Q&A sites already. I do not pretend to know whether they are the least bit successful, however. Realize too, that the sites that charge by the answer also pay their "experts" for their answers.
-
No way
-
I am so sick of paying for everything. I would absolutely not pay and I'd bad mouth this site if they ever start that crap. We all finally find something fun that doesn't cost money.
-
No
-
I'm an honest ABer but I wouldn't put it pass a very few users on here that they may entertain the thought of hiring people to open up sockpuppets in order to inflate their point totals and levels.
-
No.
-
Nope, though this is a good site, no site is worth getting your question answered and letting it sit around for years without it getting answered, meanwhile I'm elsewhere on a free site getting answers to the same question.
-
Love you guys but no.
-
Absolutely not; its just entertainment. I would find another way to entertain myself for free.
-
No. I *may* pay a one-time lifetime member fee, but no more than $20. I would need to get some pretty good perks for that fee and perhaps have a direct line to the Web-Master, cause DAMN, AB could use a makeover...
