I want to get my tongue peirced and i'm kinda nervous, i'm more nervous about the after effects then the pain. Any advice or just common facts i should know would be great, and does it make a popping sound when it goes through? Thank

You won't hear a popping noise! i haven't had my tongue pierced but my friend has and she said it didn't hurt at all and they were no after effects just a little sting when they put the piercing in! just make sure you find a clean, hygienic place! Good Luck!

Man, somebody's been telling you some horror stories! No, it does not make any sound, and it only takes a split second, so it doesn't have time to hurt. Go to a professional who knows what they are doing, he/she will give you all the aftercare instructions. Mine healed just fine in a week, but you have to take care of it for about a month after. Just ask your piercer before doing.

tongue swelling sometimes to the point of closing off airway, infection, chipped teeth from the jewelery... I'm more concerned about that than if there's a popping noise or not.

I was told it wouldn't hurt at all when they did it, then it would hurt like hell for a few hours after. When I had mine done, it hurt like hell when they did it, but then it just felt like I bit my tongue really hard for a day or two. My tongue swelled so big I lost 10 lbs because I couldn't eat anything but soup and applesauce for a week. It hurts when you bite the ball on the end. My daughter had her's done, and she said it didn't hurt at all, and she was eating fine the same day.

I had mine pierced about 5 months ago. I was so nervous, But seriously it didnt hurt at all. No poping noise either. And its so quick that you go "wow, that was it?!" It was sore if I hit it off my teeth, but other then that, I had NO swelling. But I ate ice constantly for 3 days. I love it. I do wear a plastic barbell so I dont chip my teeth as bad. Good luck tho.

When I got my tongue pierced it didn't hurt at all. It was all done and over with in a matter of seconds. My biggest problem was the healing part. My tongue was so swollen for the following six days that I could hardly eat anything other than soup (liquids will be your friend right after you're pierced). My piercing was all good and well after only eight days, it was actually the fastest piercing healing wise that I've ever had. You don't hear any noise at all, it's done quick fast and in a hurry. Ice cubes and frozen grapes (they last longer than ice cubes do) will help with the swelling. Good luck!

Hi, I just got my tounge done on Saturday and it is Wednesday. So far so good. I made sure and did a lot od research on the shop and what risks there are. Make sure and check the credibilty of the shop first before andything and lots and lots of reasearch, so you know what your doing. As for the pain, I will say it didn't hurt at all. I think the cartilage piercing is the worst one. I was so nervous when I went, but when it was all said and done, I was so relieved. One thing though, make sure and eat something before you go. I was so nervouse that I didn't and I regreted it! So long story short, no it doesn't hurt and the pain comes later but nothing unbearable. It will be worth it when it heals! Hope I was some help.

Getting your tongue pierced does not hurt at all!!! It goes by too fast to hurt! No popping noise, and the after care is extremely easy. Wash your mouth out with half listerine half water 3-5 times a day. No oral sex, kissing, smoking, alcohol for at least 2 weeks.
