I would tell the truth and be a little offended. Why, in God's name, would anyone want to be a celebrity?

If they asked if I was the other person, I would just say "no." ... but if they assumed I was the other person and they just asked me for an autograph, I would use my "second" signature (not my official signature, which I use for bank checks etc.), and let them figure out they have mistaken my identity.

I doubt I would ever be mistaken for a celebrity. Maybe someone would think I'm Lindsay Lohan if they had been bludgeoned over the head with the Beijing Yellow Pages for the hour prior. If they did, I would set them straight. I can't stand attention when I'm not asking for it.

About 15 years ago, someone thought I was a baseball player and asked for my autograph. I thought about it for 2 seconds and then I told them that I wasn't a ball player.
