  • Nice paintings, drawings, music, sculptures, hairstyles, buildings, houses, castles for sure...just about anything creative the mind can conceive, tastefully. But then, "taste" is also in the eye of the beholder.
  • Art, design, and craftsmanship are three different things. Craftsmanship is a physical skill with a media. For example, a portrait painter who can paint as realistically as a photograph shows great craftsmanship. Design is the concept of ascetics- the ability to combine shape and color in a way that is pleasing to the eye. Art has meaning. Art is designed to convey some kind of message. It makes a statement about society, about politics, about emotion- it might only make a statement about the artist his/herself. Ideally, a single work should have all three- it should demonstrate skill, it should have balance and composition, and it should convey a message. Craftsmanship and Design without meaning is not art- it's something you buy at Sears to hang over the sofa. One does not study something that has no meaning, one does not spend hours admiring something with no depth.
