If you received an organ from a dying person, would you want to know their name and life story? Why or why not?

I would want to know because I would like to hear the person's backstory and what the organ went through.

Yes I would want to know if they had a kind spirit and what kind of life they had led. I guess it really does not matter if I get a heart from a murderer but I would just want to know. Great question!!

I would like to know so I can thank the family and find about the donater. I have heard of people with donated organs sometimes taking on some of the traits of the doner. Don't know if it's true but it would be interesting to research.

Yes and no. Yes because I would like to thank the family and I'm a curious person and would want to know what the person was like. I can't imagine that an organ donor would be someone that wasn't kind, but I can't help but wonder how I would feel if I got an organ from someone and it turned out that they had been a terrible person.

yes and no for me as well...my last bf donated his organs when he died...and it was nice to know who they went to...but sometimes i think it would be hard to know who they came from...im not sure if the man who has his heart would want to know how the man who provided the organ died...i think it might cause a little bit of guilt.

i would not want to know because it would bother me if it was from somebody much younger than me.
