  • Try opening the c:documents and settingsownerlocal settings folder. [Your folder in documents and settings may be your user name or owner or user, but you can try them all.] Your temporary internet files as well as your history are in there. If you don't see your history in there, you are in the wrong folder. If your hidden folders are not viewable by you, you will have to go to folder options in control panel and unhide hidden folders. Good luck.
  • It sounds as though you are using Internet Explorer version 7. If you are, look to the left of the tabs and you'll see a yellow star - click it and then click History in the pane that appears. Alternatively go to the View... Explorer Bar... History menu item or hold down the Control and Shift keys and press H on your keyboard. In Firefox use the History... Show in Sidebar menu item.
  • I am running version 7. My history shows up under History on the left side tool bar but when you go into Tools, Internet Options and then click on settings(under temp internet files) then click on view files it comes up blank showing that no web sites have been visited. How can this be fixed? Version 7 is new to me........
  • You may have the length of time to keep temporary files set to zero. Go to Tools... Internet options and look at the page under the General tab. You'll see a section devoted to Browsing History - click on the button labelled Settings and change the number of days that temporary files will be kept.
