  • no, sorry, it isn't.
  • No. The books are excellent, especially in the way that they are able to appeal to such a broad age range but there are better books.
  • No. In my opinion they're quite over-rated. JK Rowling is one of those authors who I think of as being a good storyteller, but a dreadful writer (as one of my friends pointed out in the fourth book she uses the same simile twice) Although the characters are engaging I don't think the books themselves are terribly imaginative (the orphan and the magic powers has been done and done and done for years) they're very old-fashioned,and at times the writing got so cliched and overdone I had to stop (I've only read the first two though). there are much better kids books authors - Phillip Pullman and Lemony Snickett are both far better. But a lot of people seem to disagree with me so there we go.
  • 1984.... enough said
  • No. Some of my faves when I was younger were Stephen R Donaldson and Piers Anthony. JK Rowling is OK, but she was just in the right place at the right time to make a killing.
  • No. Good fun, but not great literature. I can read and enjoy them, but I cannot re-read them. I am a great fan of Terry Pratchett, who I can read over and over again, and still find subtleties - but enjoy them without the subtleties.
  • YES! I love HP!:-D
  • No. It's ONE of the greatest book series ever. Some other good ones are Eragon, Inkheart, and Charlie Bone.
  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! When you read more books you will see why.
  • I think yes because i am OBSESSED!!!
  • Not really, the later books are fantastic, but her earlier ones really aren't very well written. In my opinion, the greatest series written is the Sword of Truth series, written by Terry Goodkind. They really are life changing.
