It can be. Herpes, syphillus and gonorea(sp?) are a few of the risks. Herpes is the only one that stays with you forever. Condoms and dentals dams are the best way to go.

I'd like to add a little to this discussion; there is serious evidence that esp. for uncircumcised males that HIV can find an easy route of infection through the mucouse membrane in your foreskin. Major WHO study in central Africa documented a lot more Female to male infections in uncircumcised men. Do a little reading on HIV transmission, and think about the other person too.

if you are in a secure and faithful relationship and both of you are clean of sti's and HIV then its fine. if you are off getting fellatio from random girls all the time then its very bad. your chances of sti's are very high.
