I was rappelling out of a helicopter, the rope knotted and I spun around upside down. The rope was pulled out of my hands and I just hung upside down about 75 feet above the ground (10 feet above the canopy). The pilot thought everyone was gone so started to fly back to base. He caught on quick and took me back. I managed to pull myself back to the verticle, hold my weight with 80 pds of gear with one arm (amazing what you can do when you figure your gonna die) while untieing the knot with the other hand. I freed myself and repelled to the ground. I was fortunate that the LZ wasn't hot. The guys kidded me about that everytime we went in by repell...
