Is it bad to leave a cell phone plugged into the charger for a long time after it's fully charged?

No it is not bad, if you leave it on the charger it just keeps it powered to AC power, the battery will not drain while plugged in, phones have an overcharge protector so it wont damage the phone. It's good to keep it on the charger until you leave somewhere so it will be fully charged, rather then unplugging when its fully charged and wastes some battery.

Yes. While it doesn't damage the phone, it does damage the battery. I always used to leave the phone on the charger all the time until the battery wouldn't hold a charge anymore. When I took the phone to the place I got it from, they told me it was the actual battery. I told them I left it on the charger all the time and they told me that was the problem.
