No, there are over 2000 documented gods out in the world, even if you decide to believe, you have a 1/2000 chance of choosing the correct one.

No, I don't Think It would. Edit: It Sounds Like to Me, that God ment for you to die because, you didn't believe in him, its just a way to say I'm real, believe in me, then you will be saved.

Yes, it would make a huge difference. It would mean you were cheapening everything you ever said, thought, and felt about the ultimate nature of reality, and it would mean you were a coward trying to hedge bets. It would also mean you're one of the small minority that makes the expression "there are no atheists in foxholes" seem somehow clever.

According to the Bible, you are saved from eternal hell by faith, by believing that Jesus died on a cross some 2000 years ago to pay for the sins of the world. Those who truly believe are saved, even if you decide in the last few seconds.

It really depends on your belief system. Some would say that if you came to truly and rightfully believe in God in those last moments you would be saved. While other lean more towards having a life devoted to God which would make believing just at the end probably not as important. My personal belief is that when you are judged by God it will be more about the actions (kindness, helping the less fortunate and such) that you have taken in your life, then the dogmas that you ascribe to. In other words if you lead a good life I think God will recognize that and not punish you for the greater systemic path that did not lead you to belief in Him until the end of your life.

Depends.. I think that if a person lives their life searching for what they believe to be the truth and then at the end of their life finds it, then yes, I think it would make a difference. If they live their life selfishly, just assuming that they can do what they want and purposely waits until the last few minutes, then I don't think so because they knew and just denied Him up until that point... Thats my thought anyway.

Sure. I am sure God likes that. Of course, he would like it even more if one believed not just at that rough time...

If you truly did not believe during your life, then came to truly believe, yes, I think it would. In other words, if somewhere in the back of your mind there was the possibility of God's existence but you denied it so you could do as you pleased rather than as you should...then in the end you decided to profess belief "just in case"..in that case, I don't think so. But then again, I am not privvy to the mind of God, so I don't really know.

According to Christian teachings, yes. If you look at when Jesus was on the cross, there were two thieves crucified with him. One mocked him, but the other trusted him. He recognised that Jesus was innocent of any crime, and that He was an eternal King. He then asked Jesus "When you come into your kingdom, please remember me." And Jesus answered "Truly I say to you, this day you will be with me in Paradise." The thief had lived a life of rebellion, against God, against other humans and society in general. It took until the last moment before he realised his mistake, and only one confession to be forgiven. God wants us so badly to come to Him that He assures us that the death of Jesus can cover us, no matter how soon or how late we realised we need it. But, since we cannot always be guaranteed of a chance to think about things just before we die (eg car crash, heart attack, stroke etc) it is wise to remember our Creator in the days of our youth (Ecclesiastes 12:1) Contrary to what someone said above, it is not "cheapening everything you ever said, thought, and felt about the ultimate nature of reality, and it would mean you were a coward trying to hedge bets." to admit you were wrong. It is sensible. God knows the difference between those who are trying to hedge bets and those who are sincerely sorry for their rebellion (whatever form it took). Jesus says in Matthew 7:21-23 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' IOW, there will be plenty of fence sitters, bet hedgers and people glorying in their own righteousness (as if) who will get a big surprise on Judgement Day. Only the sincere will enter into Paradise.
