  • Absolutely…there’s no way to plug all the loopholes, that’s why there are so many successful lawyers.
  • I agree that all the rules men make have exceptions, not just loopholes. Circumstances will always be different for people.
  • Yes, I agree that there is a rule that states there is always an exception to a rule.
  • Rules are human constructs for applying principles and values. Principles seldom have exceptions. Rules do at times when, based upon unanticipated circumstances, they need to be refined in order to faithfully apply the principle. For instance a rule that says you must not drive on the left hand side of the road might be altered by road cave-in on that side assuming great caution is used when veering to the left.
  • I should be supreme ruler!
  • I would have to disagree because the rules of math don't have exceptions.
  • I would agree (conditionally) as my life seems to be full of odd circumstances beyond the imaginations of many people limited to computer-like, rule-based logic.
  • Often the exception proves the rule. However control and chaos aren't opposites, nor extremes. One can't exist without the other but They exist not in binary opposition, nor in duality (one's limits being the other's beginning) but in synergy. Read up on chaos theory, in particular "explaining complex systems in terms of open and closed systems". The basic integrity of all organisms on this planet relies on a combination of self-integrity (rules) and openness to change in the immediate environment. No chaos, no need for rules. No need for rules, no frame in which to be dazzled - no urge to discover, invent, or live.
