Trademark and incorporation are separate considerations. You can and should trademark your names regardless of what type of business entity you create. Whether or not you should incorporate depends on what you are looking to achieve. If your goal is simply to limit the liability of one venture from the other venture, then you could just incorporate both ventures. You could also create a third entity that wholly owns the other two, but this doesn't really give you any extra protection. Also, you don't have to incorporate to limit liability. There are now other business structures (e.g. LLC) that will limit your liability and give you tax advantages over incorporation. You should talk with a lawyer that specializes in business formation. Such a lawyer could develop a structure that limits liability and limits your tax liability.
