As already noted, flossing keeps your gums, and in turn, your teeth healthy. If you don't floss, and you try it out, your gums bleed because they are extremely fragile, due to the constant rotting food that they are exposed to. If you start to floss, and keep it up, your gums will strenghten (not bleed), and your breath will be fresher.

Yes. Plaque and tartar will build up in the spaces between the teeth. This WILL lead to tooth decay and gingivitis, there is no "might" about it.
