Why does Israel receive vast amounts of military aid from the US?

Read the link above. I am not saying I agree with it 100$, but it is a compelling argument. Basically, it says that Fundamentalist Christians believe that Jews must be in control of that part of the world when Christ returns- not the Muslims. http://www.samsloan.com/usisrael.htm

No, its not because Jews rule. Allies of the US have traditionally received vast amounts of military aid, both to help them out (and preserve US interests) and to create dependency on the US and its equipment (also a US interest). Furthermore, the US prefers to supply them with aid and create loyalty rather than have them get aid from the Russians. In accordance with this policy, Jordan, Eygypt, Saudi Arabia and Israel have all been recipients of aid.

It is because if Israel was not the strongest nation militarily, they would be quickly wiped of the face of the planet.

I think largely because the majority of people in the US are either Christian or Jewish. The Jewish ones obviously want Jews to be in Palestine. The Christian ones (for reasons I believe to be somewhat absurd and totally misguided) believe the Jews still are entitled by God to have that land, and/or believe that Jesus will not return unless the Jews have that land. (Personally, I'd be as happy as not if they removed everyone and made it glow-in-the-dark and there was finally peace in the middle east.)

USA Supplies Israel with weapons... USA supplies Saudi Arabia with weapons... Connect the dots. USA wants to keep the worlds 2 strongest relegions distracted, notice how no major christian country is at war?

powerful nations are only seriouly theatend by other powerful nations- if a powerful nation was to invade the USA they would need powerful allies to help them. so they protect thier allies and keep them strong so when you need them they can save the US. and they need more suport as they are in the middle east and if they did not have a powerful army, the other nations their would unite and engage in their hobby of wiping out anyone who is not of thier belifs. All USA aid to Israel must be stopped. Let the Middle East govern the Middle East. The USA is not wanted or needed in the Middle East. The USA's presence in the Middle East inflames the hatred that is always there. The UN or a new international Peace Force will keep the peace for the Middle East. Bring the USA troops home. Why should the USA borrow money and give the money to Israel? The USA is broke.

It never made sense to me how we can give over 2 billion dollars a year to Israel yet we still have homeless people on our own streets. I would have thought you fix your own problems before you go helping others.
