    Well I have always used 2 others besides AVG AntiSpy.. Spybot Search and Destroy... its freeware, and scan ands immunises your pc from 70,000 spyware generators... It pickes up things that Microsoft AntiSpyWare doesnt.... Lavasoft - Ad AWARE! This is freeware, and does lots of different scans at once its superb....

    I dont know whether its the best, but I use "Superantispyware" along with "ccleaner" and "ncleaner"......works for me.

    Keep your "Windows Defender" turned-on (if you are using Vista) or Install it and keep it up-to-date. it's one of the best. also, SpyBot - Search and Destroy will keep your computer safe and clean from any spyware.
