Revelations :- And the lamb opened the seventh seal, and silence covered the sky . Whats the meaning of this?

I don't believe there is a good answer for this. I have read Revelations many times and read the interpretations. All are different.

The seventh seal is opened. There was profound silence in heaven for a space; all was quiet in the church, for whenever the church on earth cries through oppression, that cry reaches up to heaven; or it is a silence of expectation. Trumpets were given to the angels, who were to sound them. The Lord Jesus is the High Priest of the church, having a golden censer, and much incense, fulness of merit in his own glorious person. Would that men studied to know the fulness that is in Christ, and endeavoured to be acquainted with his excellency. Would that they were truly persuaded that Christ has such an office as that of Intercessor, which he now performs with deep sympathy. No prayers, thus recommended, was ever denied hearing and acceptance. These prayers, thus accepted in heaven, produced great changes upon earth. The Christian worship and religion, pure and heavenly in its origin and nature, when sent down to earth and conflicting with the passions and worldly projects of sinful men, produced remarkable tumults, here set forth in prophetical language, as our Lord. The lamb broke out of the barn.The farmer was so pissed he shot him.But the lamb was his sons favorite pet.Nobody could believe what he had done.Everyone stood there speechless. All ya gotta do is just read into it.Kind of like sounding out a word. I think this was an excerpt from an old children's book "Oh lamb where art thou?" It was a classic back in the 50's.

i would like to know where in revelation you read this? i am almost sure i can give you an answer. the lamb is symbolic of JesusChrist and there are seals that he has been given authority to reveal and open in the last days of this system of things.

I don't which translation you are using. But all the ones I see say the silence was in Heaven for 1/2 hr. -- Jesus the Lamb opens the 7th seal and Heaven becomes silient because of the wrath that they know comes with the 7th seal.

They want us to BELIEVE this LITERALLY? Even if all those distorted visions had some metaphoric relevance, it's still the raving of a fanatic who was high as a kite on some hallucinogen.
