I am a real thinker at night so I have a special thing I do. I relax my entire body and let all the thoughts go. Then I start deep breathing and with each exhale I count backwards from 100. I have never ever gotten to 1 because if I get all distracted I have to start again. Puts me to sleep really well.
-
i fall asleep if i want or lie awake thinking if i want.. so im fine
-
it really just depends on how tired i am. if i'm really tired i'll pretty much be asleep before i hit the pillow.. but if i'm not tired i'll usually i'll kick off all the covers and toss and turn. falling asleep when i don't want to is a concentrated effort. thankfully that doesn't happen that often as sleeping is one of my favorite things to do.
-
No I have suffered with insomnia all my life.
-
I have no problem falling asleep. It's the waking up at 5 A.M. part that's difficult.
-
I fall asleep almost as soon as my head hits the pillow. Sleeping in not hard, waking up is. lol
-
God no... I have to wait until I'm about to pass out on the floor, and then crawl on the bed. Otherwise I get bored of lying around with my eyes closed (even if I'm tired) and have to go do something else.
-
I have to read even if it's a few pages it's my routine.
-
I can't fall asleep easily unless I am extremely tired. I usually lay down when I feel sleepy, and then lay there for at least 30 minutes, usually closer to 1 hour, before I finally fall asleep. My mind likes to think about useless things constantly once I lay down, so it's really hard for me to shut it up and fall asleep.
-
Usually I just settle into my 'sleep position' and then next thing you know, lala land.
-
can i fall asleep easily? no i have gone days without sleep until found a routine of complete exhausting work 10hrs a day for weeks on end. And i finally could'nt do that safely any more so it was pointed out to me that there may be some underlying medical problem that may need the help of medication.Since finding this out i can sleep normally and i'am more rested. I wish i would have found this out ealier in my life, from the time i was nine until i was 27 i did'nt know what rest was or what a good sleep was and i think back at how bad i felt i mean through my formative years i was always on edge feeling sick all the time, and then after a few weeks i would crash i mean fall right into oblivious sleep for 24hrs at a time i mean it was not normal, i would not sleep and then people would ask whats wrong with you, i would fly right off the handle what the hell are you talking about. all my school pictures i have black rings under my eyes. You know there were some benefits i could do home work until 4am and shower go to school. I would have girl friends and they could never understand it,but for that matter nor could i. For me my sleep wake cycle is the most important component to my health. And finding the right doctor to point out that i may have somthing else going on besides insomnia was my wake up call, think of this for a minute it is figured that from 1979 to 1998 i slept 32days dont believe me, i would'nt either i could'nt,i was a mess, and when i starte sleeping well i thought that there was somthing wrong or i missed somthing, shortly after this i started becoming super diligent i started thinking i was missing something, or something was not right, it took time and for the first time i started listening to what my new doctor had to say. Well enough i hope this can answer your question or bring some light to what it is that you wanter to gain. and yes there is help for insomniacs
-
I always need at least an hour. I used to pity those morons who slept in class...now I kind of envy them.
-
Total insomniac and I take drugs like Risperdal perphenazine Ambien Butalbital Nembutal seroquel
-
Usually it does. When I feel not so tired I put my earphones on, which is a sure-fire thing for falling asleep fast.
-
it never has.
-
Oh yes, I can hardly stay awake past 8 PM. I wonder how people can stay up past midnight, grab 2 or 3 hours and wake up ready to go. Even with 6 or 7 hours, I'm still groggy.
-
Yes. I work pretty hard all day on lots of things, plus I try to get good exercise. When I do get into bed at night, my head hits pillow and I am asleep instantly. I can sleep for as long as 7 hours before coming slightly awake. In winter, sleeping is like a sport - done with great enthusiasm.
-
Only iff im really tired!!! Usually i stay awake at night just thinking about nothing
-
Some nights super easy and some nights super difficult.
-
depends on how the day goes
-
No, I have to toss and turn for awhile or just stay up late.

-
Nope.
-
YES, it's the waking-up part that gets me.
-
Not at all. I take a sedative every night I go to bed. That is when I feel like sleeping.
-

I fall asleep within 5 minutes and almost always sleep completely through the night. I can sleep on planes or in cars too. My problem is that I don't get to bed early enough sometimes. I am usually up early though at about 5 am, wake up refreshed, and am immediately full of energy.
-
only when i'm used to going to bed at a certain time.
-
Only when I drink enough.
-
LMFAO! Yes When I first read the question, I could have sworn the question was, Does sheep come easy to you?!
-
Yes ...pretty easy ! You tell me to sleep now , I will :)
-
No It doesn't I have to scream at it and then chase it down! Grrrrr
-
hardly sleep... peace!!!
-
Absolutely, I can sleep on a dime...My problem is staying awake during the work day! And since I run/exercise a lot, i saw freaking logs in my sleep!
-
With beer, yes.
-
If a man is 40years of age and he sleeps 12hours a day. it simply means that he has slept for half of his days on earth i.e 20years. Naturally, sleep should come to anybody easilly but when yo think of all ypu have to do within 24hours, its so hard to sleep and when you try, you will realise that you are only wasting your time trying to sleep.
-
Probably TOO easy.
-
Yes, but it doesn't stay with me.
-
Nope, It takes me about an hour in the pitch dark with meditation otherwise it can take me about 3 hours to fall asleep from over exaustion.
-
It use too, now it's anywhere from 2-3 am before I'm crawling into bed and still awake
-
When I don't have a lot on my mind. I'm still waiting for that day to come.
-
I have bouts of insomnia, but I've not gone more than 3 days without sleep.
