both... its a delicatre balance and whether the american consumer is benefitting or losing from this is hard to say. it has cost america thousands of jobs but has also allowed cheaper products to come into the marketplace.

while it may have made the consumer happy to have lower prices.......and it made stock investors happy to get higher devidends........it has also costs the us jobs........without jobs who can buy. It has backfired in mexico in that cheaper labor was good for the corporations and it helped to keep mexico from coming here for jobs....when they went to china for even cheaper labor the mexicans lost jobs and so did americans and now we have a bigger influx of mexicans coming here
