Help answer this question below.
You really do not want me to answer this right now but, guess what, I am going to.
My snot is a bit stinky but it is nothing like what is coming out of my lungs.
I am at the "stinky cough" stage of my bronchitis where what comes out of there when I cough and exhale reeks and is so thick I can hang pictures from the wall with it. I am surprised that my sputum does not reach out of the kleenex, grab me, and b*tchslap me just out of sheer meanness.

From Professor Pippy P. Poopypants your answer is quite simple...
Snot takes on the identifiable characteristic odor of the vapors passing through the nostrils. when we smell snot sick or not we smell what is a combination of odors in the air and leftover input from the sensory information already read and stored by the brain, ie... If you are standing in the kitchen while chicken noodle soup is cooking and you smell your snot it will undoubtly smell like chicken noodle soup. on the same hand if you picked your butt first then your nose your brain will interpret everything as smelling like poopy(no pun intended). Any more questions?
Depends on if you have a sinus infection or not... If you don't, then you don't have to worry since it doesn't have a smell... but otherwise.... well, that depends on what is causing the infection..
Unless you have a really bad infection, I don't think they have a smell.
Like the inside of your nose. Perfectly camoflaged against odor detection.
Snot doesn't smell, i know i've scooped enough of it up at work as samples for the lab.
Why dont you smell yours and tell me? Im struggling to describe mine, even as I try to for you out of the goodness of my own heart...
Have a deep sniff and find out...
dust & dirt
Boogers.

when I'm sick, I can smell my own snot. When I'm not sick, I can't smell it (or it has no detectable odor). So when my snot smells, that is one clue to me that I'm getting sick. I cannot describe the actual smell of it though ...
a field of canola near my parents house smells like snot

But it does taste salty hehehehe
What's a weird smell that you like? Gasoline, Wet Pavement, anything?
