My dad was what I have (many years after his untimely demise) learned is a "rageaholic". http://www.rage-anon.org/ At times, I became extremely fed up with his misdirected anger and just wanted to either A) shut him up or B) smack him across the face. Thankfully, he passed on before my frustration with his misdirected anger became such an issue that I would have opted for option B above.
