What are some things to consider when choosing between remodeling and just moving to a new house?

One of the things to consider is whether the remodel will price the house significantly outside the neighborhood values. For instance, if the average value of a home in your neighborhood is $200,000, and your remodelled home will be worth $400,000, you may make it very difficult to sell it for what it's worth.
