Can you lay wood flooring next to tile flooring? My entryway has tile and the dining room and stairs are on either side...can I put wood in the dining and stair areas?

Absolutley. We just laid down a wood floor in our home/office and our hallway and family room have tile. It only takes a small divider between the two and you can usually pick that up when you buy the laminate or wood flooring. Good luck with the project.
