  • I'm not sure but I think it's illegal to ship cigarettes across state lines and probably internationally. So the cigs are probably made here and sent there, but it may be illegal (for taxing reasons) to have them sent back here to you. Anyone else out there know if this is correct?
  • I used to be a rep for Philip Morris the manufacturer of Marlboro cigarettes. NO, the cigarettes marketed in different parts of the world have different recipes for the tastes of the local consumers there. For example, Marlboro cigarettes in Mexico have a much stronger taste and much higher nicotine level than those in the US. One bit of info for you: even though they're all different, they're all manufactured here in the States, most in Virginia.
  • I'll bet you that get sent a tax bill for as much if not more than you pay for the cigarettes. This happened to my Mother-In-Law. If you cannot quit I would suggest that you check the prices in the states around you and do the driving yourself. I think that is the only way you will get them any cheaper if you can. I hear Virginia and South Carolina have cheap prices on cigarettes. Not that I am suggesting that you cheat your state out of the taxes they want to collect off you, officer.
  • I personally gave up on tobacco cigarettes. They are just to expensive no matter which way you look at it. Not to mention there is a risk when ordering cigarettes off of the internet. I recently picked up an electronic cigarette and it is saving me tons of money. Not to mention they are way better for you than normal cigarettes. With the electronic cigarette I have it only costs me about $1.25 per pack. Here is a link where you can learn more. http://www.perfectelectroniccigarette.com/blu-electronic-cigarettes
  • Yes, watch out for the tax man. In a couple of years they will show up and demand thousands of dollars in taxes from you for your state. I'd say take a look at electronic cigarettes too. Way cheaper then traditional tobacco, and although the FDA says I can't say so, they do seem to be far healthier too. http://electroniccigarettespot.com to learn more.
  • I recall a lady who bought smokes for her friends in WA (The state) in OR. Coming back, she got stopped for speeding. Seeing the cigs in the second seat, he asked her if she smoked. (They were 4 different brands) she said "NO" The cop then called the state tax people who busted her for..."Bootlegging!' This was serious enough for a $1,000 fine. Luckily she had her friends make it up, but she learned her lesson about buyuing for tohers and transporting. I buy the loose tobacco online and tubes locally (I have an "Injection" machine I got off www.ryocigaretts.com) and it costs me about $39 for three weeks of smokes.
