In most states, it is illegal to own them without special permission. Surprised no 2nd ammendment challenges have come up.

Brass knucks are illegal to own in many states. Probably because they are seldom used for self defense!!! I had a self-defense coach tell me that it can be just as effective if you'll keep a small metal pipe in your hand as it can be as effective as brass knucks. Then you can drop the pipe & kick it out of sight. The knucks are illegal where the pipe isn't.
