Since this question was posted in the Canadian History section, I assume you're referring to the first Canadian transcontinental railway, the Canadian Pacific.
The Last Spike was driven on 7 November 1885, at Craigellachie, British Columbia. During this time, Sir John A. Macdonald was Prime Minister (his second stint in office, for four terms).

The US transcontinental railroad was completed at Promontory Summit, Utah, on 10 May 1869. Based on http://www.answerbag.com/c_view.php/141#q_2886 this would mean that Sir John a. MacDonald would have been the Prime Minister at the time. He was actually Canada's first Prime Minister.

Just a guess,but i would take there logon here and start by adding all the 'yahoo.coms,gmail.coms...etc' ,and go the the usual emails that everyone has.I bet you will ,one of those times end up actually sending them a message....then go from there.See most people are to lazy to figure out different logons and password to every site they register on,so you gotta just jump on that ! good luck
