  • I should be but not
  • Not always, I can get lost in worldly affairs, emotions, or the past and present, the mind and body functions like that. Far from perfect I'm afraid, still I'll keep learning hard lessons, until I've accepted Gods will not mine and get focused again. "Gal 5:17 For the flesh has desires that are opposed to the Spirit, and the Spirit has desires that are opposed to the flesh, for these are in opposition to each other, so that you cannot do what you want." John 16:33 I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble and suffering, but take courage—I have conquered the world." Romans 7:22 For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, 23 but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. 24 Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin." 1 John 2:15-16 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father but from the world. 17The world is passing away, along with its desires; but whoever does the will of God remains forever.
  • -I am committed to the teachings of my faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The scriptures of the Bible give strong guidelines on the identifying marks of the true religion, which are: -Mark 7:7; Colossians 2:8; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16-The religion’s teachings must reflect those of God and not traditions of men. There are many common teachings today that contradict the truths found in the Bible, such as the trinity, hellfire, immortality of the soul, worship of images, and involvement in the world’s warfare and politics. -Psalm 22:22; 83:18; John 17:6; Acts 15:14-They make known God’s name and upholds his sovereignty, like Jesus did during his earthly ministry. They worship only Jehovah God (Matthew 4:10) and use his name. For God’s name to be sanctified is one of the requests given in the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9). Some other religions might be aware of the divine name Jehovah or Yahweh, but they don’t frequently refer to that name or make it widely known. -John 3:16,36-They exercises faith in Jesus’ ransom sacrifice. -Matthew 16:24; 1 Peter 2:21-They follow Jesus as the model for the way they live. Leading their lives by the above principles helps produce in them the fruitage of the spirit that collectively refer to positive qualities (Galatians 5:22,23). -John 13:34,35-They demonstrate outstanding love for one another, as Christ Jesus showed to his disciples. This love is strong as such that they are willing to die for one another (John 15:13). -Matthew 24:14; 28:19,20-They obey Jesus’ command to engage in a global preaching to tell others about Jehovah’s sovereignty and about God’s Kingdom hope for mankind and promote faith in Jesus. (Daniel 2:44; Luke 12:32; 22:29). -They teach the truth that God’s Kingdom is a real government that will bring paradise conditions back to the earth that God intended (Psalm 37:10,11; Isaiah 11:6-9; 65:21,22; Revelation 21:4). -They are politically neutral (Matthew 26:52; John 18:36) and do not encourage others to look to man to solve their problems (Psalm 146:3; 118:9, Jeremiah 10:23). -For that reason, I believe Jehovah’s Witnesses have taught me the truth, in spite of the persecution and ridicule we receive for proclaiming the truth. Unfortunately, we’ve been in the news for some bad publicity lately. Several members who claim to be Jehovah’s Witnesses have committed vile acts of pedophilia, and this has heaped a lot of reproach on our reputation. I’m disgusted by this and hope the organization does a better job of owning up to all of this. However, it doesn’t mean the doctrine they’ve taught makes a good faith effort to match the scriptures. For that reason, I’ve stuck with this course.
